Indian Hills is a small community located approximately seven miles northeast of downtown Louisville and is comprised of approximately 1200 homes. This neighborhood is known for its mature trees and green space. Indian Hills has more of a suburban feel to it than other neighborhoods closer to downtown, making it a very desirable neighborhood for families. Houses here usually have much larger lots and more yard space than other neighborhoods in the Louisville metro area. Indian Hills in its current form was created from a referendum, held in 1999, which combined four smaller cities — Indian Hills – Cherokee, Indian Hills – Country Club, Robinswood, and Winding Falls.
